Shanon Drayton
Born in Southern California to an artist father and business woman mother, Shanon had an interest in architecture from a very early age. As a child, she would draw floor plans of her dream house and spend hours building houses for her Barbie’s.
She knew she wanted to study architecture in college so after graduating high-school she went to Arizona State University to attend their architecture college, one of the top 5 schools in the nation. After graduating during a recession in 1990, she decided to spend some time in Europe.
Shanon spent over two years in Germany teaching business English, then one year in London working at a design studio, then two years in Hong Kong where she went back to school to the University of Hong Kong to learn AutoCAD, a computer drafting program. In Hong Kong she worked for a landscape architect as well as an engineering firm in the drafting department. After living and working in Hong Kong for a couple of years, she was anxious to explore more of South East Asia.
